Arctic Monkeys announce biggest tour of Australia and NZ

Arctic Monkeys will visit Australia and NZ next year for their biggest tours of our shores to date.

Their debut album, Whatever People Say I am, That’s What I’m Not became the fastest-selling debut album in British music history and since then, they’ve taken out two Grammys, five Brit Awards, have headlined Glastonbury twice and performed at the London Olympic opening ceremony.

Last here for Falls and Southbound Festivals in 2011, they’ll return next year to celebrate their fifth studio album AM. It has been the band’s fifth consecutive UK number one debut making them the first artists signed to an independent label to achieve this. The album also shot straight to number one on the ARIA Album Chart.  It features guest appearances from Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, Elvis Costello’s drummer Pete Thomas and ex-Coral man Bill Ryder Jones.

Tickets for Australian and NZ shows go on sale from 10.00am AEDT on Wednesday 11 December. Arctic Monkeys play an all ages show at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Wednesday 7 May 2014.
