Grinspoon and British India return to GC for best night ever

It’s already been named the ‘best night ever’ and it hasn’t even happened yet. It takes over NightQuarter as a ‘not-quite’ new years eve bash and post-grunge rockers Grinspoon will headline the night.

Off the back of their hugely successful and fully sold-out 31 date national tour to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of their debut album Guide To Better Living, Grinspoon just can’t get enough of the stage and are thrilled to be back .

The legendary Grinners will be joined by fellow rock royalty British India and local rock stars Eliza & The Delusionals and Voiid.

Presented by NightQuarter and New World Artists, Best Night Ever! is putting every effort into living up to its namesake for the fans.

Phil Jamieson, lead vocalist of Grinspoon, is stoked to be kicking it on stage for one last massive 2017 party.

It is with great pleasure that we’re taking out the year in style at the NightQuarter. 2017 has been a brilliant year for GSPN HQ… we’ve played to many friends, danced with many dancers, traversed over land & sea visiting every state & territory in this wonderful country of ours.”

“We want to have one final party to celebrate and this is where YOU come in. Dear Friends, you are cordially invited to the BEST NIGHT EVER! it will be the… BEST NIGHT EVER! because that is what its name is – THERE ARE NO EXCUSES! See you there!”

It was 22 years ago that then Lismore-based Grinspoon submitted a song called Sickfest to triple j’s Unearthed national band competition in its very first year. They won that competition and for two months after the song was triple j’s number one request. Just two years later Grinspoon released their debut album Guide to Better Living. It went double-platinum and spent 36 weeks in the ARIA Top 50. That was 20 years ago.

If you missed them as part of their national tour, then you must add the Best Night Ever to your gig-going bucket list.

There’s no question a 30 December gig was always going to be a winner. No NYE crowds, a killer lineup, free public transport and a purpose-built venue for Gold Coast’s music lovers. Sure has the makings of the best night ever.

Grinspoon is Phil Jamieson on vocals, Pat Davern on guitar, Joe Hansen on bass and Kristian Hopes on drums. British India, Eliza and the Delusionals and VOIID will warm you up for a bangin’ Grinspoon set.

Pre-sale tickets for the Best Night Ever (Oztix / Grinspoon fans) are on sale from noon Thursday 12 October to 9.00pm Saturday 14 October. General public sale commences 9.00am Monday 16 October.

Grinspoon’s Guide To Better Living deluxe 20th anniversary album is out now. (It’s available on vinyl too, if you’re that way inclined).

Haven’t visited NightQuarter yet? Grinspoon is beckoning.

There’s also a rumour going around that the light rail to Helensvale may be open for this gig. Even if it’s not, you still get free public transport on the Translink network by rail, Surfside bus and G:link services when you show your event ticket.

Grinspoon provided the soundtrack for a whole generation of music lovers and now they’ll provide the soundtrack to end 2017 with the Best Night Ever.
