After a crazy musical whirlwind in the U.S, and some personal trials closer to home, the Melbourne four-piece Skipping Girl Vinegar is coming back to Byron Bay Bluesfest – and bringing treats! The band is launching their third album The Great Wave at Bluesfest and will be playing shows Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; as well as introducing new music. Music that, if you ask festival director Peter Noble, ‘has hit written all over it’.
With a musical style that blends melodies like shadows, keeping the light and the dark intertwined in haunting harmony, these homegrown musicians will be sure to keep the tents packed at Bluesfest. Having worked with producer Brad Jones (Missy Higgins, Josh Rouse) on the forthcoming album, and turned to music as a cathartic expression of life and love, this is one performance we are definitely excited to catch this weekend.
