Queensland Conservatorium’s Popular Music program is presenting the 2016 Graduate Showcase at The Arts Centre Gold Coast on Thursday 24 November.
The Bachelor of Popular Music graduate showcase has been a tradition almost since the first students graduated in 2001.
Since 2001, the showcase has grown from an informal chance for “one last jam” to the polished presentation you’ll see if you’re lucky enough to be at The Arts Centre Gold Coast tonight.
That’s when Queensland Conservatorium’s Popular Music program will showcase intimate performances by some of the most impressive emerging musicians in SEQ and the Gold Coast including Twelve Past Midnight, Athena Joy and LIVVIA.
While the graduate showcase represents the culmination of three years of full time study, totally immersed in their music and the music industry for those involved, those students performing are already well embarked on their musical careers, many having released music and toured. Athena Joy was even a finalist in the 2016 Queensland Music Awards.
With a reputation for fostering some of Queensland’s most promising talent including Kite String Tangle, Wolfmother and Bobby Alu, this will be a killer event and you should make sure you’re front and centre. Especially given tickets are only $10.
