It’s finally here! The lineup we all sit at our screens anxiously waiting for – DOWNLOAD! With the stakes high after this year’s debut in Melbourne, it’s safe to say they’ve smashed this one out of the park.
2019’s lineup will bring some of the worlds biggest names to Australia, most notably the prince of darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne. As Ozzy takes on his final world tour, Download will be host to the exclusive down under performances. Alongside Ozzy are thrash juggernauts Slayer who will also be well into their farewell tour by the time they take to our stages. While you may think that this is best to come, think again. Download have rolled out one of the best line ups Australia has seen in years with bands like Alice in Chains, Rise Against, Judas Priest, Anthrax and Ghost adding to an already mind-blowing list.
This year will see the festival migrate to Sydney’s Parramatta Park two days before Melbourne’s sprint at Flemington Racecourse (pun intended). With the success of the first line up in Melbourne this year, the plan to tackle Sydney was an obvious grab. Now we just need to pray that 2020 will see Brisbane blessed by the metal gods with its own Download Festival, which speculation would assume the likely venue being the old Soundwave and even older Livid home turf, RNA Showgrounds.
Until then, all you can do is throw your hard earned cash towards either Melbourne or Sydney and enjoy one of the greatest music festivals in Australia.
Tickets hit the shelves today, so grab them while you can, there’s no way this line up won’t sell out!
Tickets available through Downloads website.
Download Festival will hit Sydney 9 March at Parramatta Park and Melbourne 11 March at Flemington Racecourse.
