Bingo for a bale: Marketta supports the farmers

Miami hotspot Miami Marketta is setting the stage for another incredible instalment of the much loved and highly anticipated Drag Queen Bingo. The winning collaboration between the organisers of Drag Queen Bingo and Miami Marketta has been a fan favourite for over a year but this month, the event is bringing something extra special to support our Australian Farmers during this relentless drought.

Drag Queen Bingo was brought to life in 2017 by Gold Coast Local Melissa Gonzalez who originally started the event to support the historic “YES” Campaign. Since then, the monthly event has gained serious momentum which has presented the opportunity to support the Australian Community with various initiatives to make a difference.

This month, the focus is on our Farmers. Drag Queen Bingo will be aligning with Rural Aid and joining their mission to provide funds for much needed resources. Rural Aid have a series of successful initiatives to support to our farmers left devastated by the drought including the BUY A BALE campaign which provides feed to starving livestock.

“I started Drag Queen Bingo to bring something unique to the Gold Coast Community and it has been incredibly rewarding to see the event grow into a platform that not only entertains our community but helps support Australians in need” says Melissa.

“Rural Aid is a wonderful foundation. Their BUY A BALE Campaign has already received over $4.5 Million in donations and we hope our September Event will be able to donate a generous contribution to this fantastic cause.”

The audience can expect an interactive, highly entertaining evening and bingo with a saucy twist hosted by Gold Coast Queen and performer, Natasha St. James who never fails to impress attendees with her hilarious banter, captivating performances and cheeky on-stage antics.

“Natasha has the audience in the palm of her hands from start to finish. She is often joined on stage by Gold Coast Entertainers, Contortionists and other talented Queens. We know that this month’s event will be our best yet and we hope we can rally enough attendees to support Rural Aid” Melissa says.

This month’s Drag Queen Bingo will be held at Miami Marketta on 26 September with early bird tickets currently selling for just $20. Tickets to the show include 5 games of Bingo hosted by Natasha St. James with an opportunity to win incredible prizes.

Melissa and the team at Drag Queen Bingo encourage local businesses to donate prizes which will be raffled off throughout the evening. Book your tickets here.
