Ever since their return to the spotlight earlier this year with the release of ‘Run’, fans across Australia have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of a national tour. And low and behold, the gods of rock have granted us our wish with the announcement tonight that legendary rockers Foo Fighters will be returning to our golden shores come January and February next year with their Concrete And Gold Tour.
The boys will be trekking right across the country playing some of the biggest arenas we have to offer, hitting our very own Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on 25 January. Bringing along with them for the ride are the slacker indie rock pioneers Weezer, who last hit Australia with their Blue Album Anniversary tour back in 2013. Weezer also have a brand new release on the horizon, ‘Pacific Daydream’ due for release 27 October. And local act DZ Deathrays will once again support them with an epic set no less.
Foo Fighters have recently released two tracks from their upcoming record ‘Concrete And Gold’. Firstly releasing ‘Run’, a more thrashy and punk rocky track reminiscent of the band’s early work. While Run was more subversive, the recent release of, ‘The Sky Is A Neighborhood’ is definitely classic Foo Fighters, delivering on all fronts and tailor made to be belted out at arenas across the globe.
Foo Fighters are notorious for their huge rock shows that can last up to 3 hours, putting in 110% for the entirety of the concert. So if you’re one of those unlucky people who are yet to attend of Fooeys gig, don’t let yourself miss out on tickets to this. It’s worth every last penny.
