Gold Coast icon, Carrara Markets has opened its events arena to hold the first ever one-day second hand fashion event, Frockarama on Sunday 31 March from 9am to 2pm.
The idea behind Carrara Markets opening up for this event is sparked by ‘Marie Kondo’ addicts wanting a marketplace to sell their clothing, shoes and accessories and for consumers to find a marketplace to find those perfect bargains.
Frockarama Event Organiser, Mia Lee says “Selling your unwanted fashion at Frockarama not only helps declutter your wardrobe but it encourages more sustainable fashion choices.”
“It’s a brilliant way of making a little cash as well as ensuring your clothes don’t end up as landfill.” She adds.
Sustainable fashion is on the rise and Mia says “Our shopping practices have changed considerably with less pressure to always buy new. Buying from a thrift shop or doing wardrobe swaps with friends is now common practice. It’s creates less impact on the environment, it’s inexpensive and it’s so much more fun!”
There will be racks and racks of preloved up-market brands, quirky vintage, designer labels that have only been worn once, excess stock from local brands, jewellery makers, onceworn shoes and handbags.
To assist in the pursuit for a fashion bargain Frockarama will be a buzzing with a live DJ and a Sirromet Wine Bar. With free entry and free parking, don’t miss Frockarama on Sunday 31 March, 9am to 2pm held inside the massive Events Arena at Carrara Markets.
