A new series of videos, commissioned by City of Gold Coast shows the wonderful variety and depth of live talent across the City. As well as highlighting the live talent of artists as diverse as Bobby Alu, Mason Rack and Phoebe Sinclair, the Soundbar Sessions also highlight the diversity of spaces that Gold Coast’s artists are performing in.
Electrik Lemonade performs with a stunning backdrop – Burleigh Headland – captured at a recent Seaside Sounds event on the City’s favourite hill. Yes Sir Noceur perform their song ‘Zephyr’ at Prose Art Space in Miami, Tommy Sheehan’s ‘Old House’ was captured live at Soundlounge, amongst other locations and Satisvibes at Southport CBD street markets.
Cheap Fakes draw a crowd in Beatniks record store in Broadbeach, James Street Preachers lay down some blues in their spiritual home – Cambus Wallace, Mason Rack at his regular – The Cooly Hotel – and Tesla Coils are captured at Miami Shark Bar.
Phoebe Sinclair, a Griffith University Queensland Conservatorium graduate gets the crowd involved, live at NightQuarter and Bobby Alu and Mrs Miyagi are captured performing ‘The Day’ Live at Bond.
