It’s one of Australia’s most iconic rock albums to ever be released. It took four boys from Lismore and sky rocketed them into the spotlight in 1997. Twenty years on we will see Grinspoon return from a lengthy hiatus to hit a national tour right across Australia playing their debut album Guide To Better Living in its entirety.
Grinspoon went into hiding back in December of 2013 and fans have eagerly awaited a return to the stage of one of Australia’s most beloved bands. And what better way to return to the stage than to play what is arguably your best album from start to finish.
The album holds some of their best work and most memorable tracks such as Champion, DC3X, Repeat and probably the most recognisable track of all Just Ace.
The release of the record took the original Triple J Unearthed winners to a new spectrum. We saw them hitting the stage at Livid, a once treasured and iconic Australian music festival (sad face), Homebake, also a once treasured music festival and they played the ever popular morning television show Recovery hosted by Dylan Lewis on more than one occasion.
Personally this has always been a wish list show for myself, seeing this album live. And I know I’m not the only one. This will undoubtedly be one of the most memorable tours of 2017, so don’t even think twice about purchasing a ticket. If not for the album, just for the fact that the almighty Grinners are back.
As Phil once said, Don’t call it a comeback, It’s hardly a comeback if you’ve never gone.
Grinspoon will be hitting up the Tivoli on 8 July. Tickets via Ticketmaster.
