If you read our gushing review of Infamous, you’ll know we’re big fans. You can imagine our excitement, then, as we reveal that the adults-only circus cabaret which sold out most nights in the Spiegel Big Top is returning for an unprecedented second season.
Of course no visit to an Ashton circus would be complete without the trapeze, taken on by the new generation of famous Flying Ashtons, who achieved the vertiginous heights of their predecessors with total professionalism and no small amount of sparkle. Hearts racing, toes tapping, smiles a mile wide, the crowd piled out of the stunning Spiegel Big Top buzzing with the knowledge that they’d just been treated to an evening of top shelf entertainment that comes along once in a blue moon. If they’d just thrown a toffee apple into the mix, I’d be able to die happy.
Running for five weeks at Broadwater Parklands, Infamous’ first season had its final show last night. But the team is immediately dismantling the massive circus tent and moving it to a brand new home for its second season – the Gold Coast Italo-Australian Club at Clear Island Waters.
Sue Porrett, Infamous Production Manager said they’d been blown away by Gold Coast’s love of the show.
“The demand to see the show is still so strong, that we are so pleased to be able to host another season immediately in our brand-new location,” she said.
Infamous delivers uncensored burlesque, unlike any circus you’ve seen before. There are no dull spots in the show. You can expect stunning aerial acts and a gobsmacking slack wire-slash-juggling performance fighting for the audience’s love. Every cast member earns their place with sweat, and character. It’s a truly and dizzying spectacle.
And it’s strictly for adult eyes only.
The second season will run Friday 24 August – Sunday 16 September and tickets are on sale now. There are a bunch of seating options ranging from ringside chairs (we’re you’re basically part of the action) and tables (with cushioned seats, bubbly and desert platter) through to extremely limited premium seats and seven raised rows with a front-on view of the stage.
If you missed the first season, you’ve really got no excuse this time.
