Punchy new Gold Cost four piece Raw Deep have delivered a sonic statement of intent in the form of their debut single, ‘Give Me A Reason’.
The on-the-rise alt rockers, who formed in high school off the back of a shared musical vision and drive, have been steadily building a dedicated following on the live local music scene, and are ready to take things to the next level over the remainder of 2019 and beyond.
‘Give Me A Reason’ impressively encapsulates the band’s musical dexterity, chemistry and finely honed song-writing chops. It’s a mature outing which channels the best bits of both classic and modern rock, set to a tale of personal release as the band locks into a free flowing, wide-screen groove which oozes sass and peels off guitar licks in equal measure.
The track was one of six songs that the band recently recorded at the renowned Lovestreet Studios in Currumbin. Says the band’s lead singer, Nathan Lindsay, in relation to how these tracks will see the light of day; “Our plan of attack is to release each single periodically over the course of the next six months. We’re hopeful that this method will allow us to steadily build momentum and expand our following whilst we spend time playing shows and writing new material, without exhausting the creative process.” Off the strength of their debut offering, this should be a fait accompli.
Having recently played a headlining show at the Coolangatta Hotel to celebrate the launch of ‘Give Me A Reason’, the band are looking to schedule in some further local gigs during August and September, with a show already locked in at the Tallebudgera Surf Club on 22 September.
