John Butler set to drop first record in four years

John Butler might be Australia’s highest selling independent artist, but it’s been a few years since fans have heard new music.

All that has changed today with Butler unveiling a release date for his first new album in over four years as well as launching the title track ‘Home’.

The song is a mish-mash of industrial beats and brooding soul and sees Butler record in mainly a solo format for the first time ever.

Butler says that ‘Home’ “scratches the surface of the emotional and sonic landscape that eventually became the bedrock of the album.

The album promises to be one of self-discovery and artistic rebirth with the ‘home’ theme running through as a snapshot of one person’s journey to find home both physically and as a state of being.

John Butler’s new album ‘Home’ will be released 28 September and punters at Caloundra Music Festival will get a live taste of the new songs before Butler takes his music around the world.

More tour announcements and song releases are expected over coming months.
