At long Lastlings, they’re back

It’s been a while between Gold Coast gigs for local brother / sister duo Lastlings, who have stolen hearts across the globe with their dreamy electronica.

Amy Dowdle (19) & Josh Dowdle (24) are musically self-taught, and have devoted the better part of five years to their craft, fine-tuning their songwriting and production from their home in the hinterlands of Southern Queensland.

In just those few short years (including a break while Amy finished high school), the duo have gone from strength to strength, first dominating the local scene, releasing banger after banger, racking up the airplays and streams, and scoring spots on festival lineups like BIGSOUND, FOMO Festival and Beyond The Valley, and doing sellout shows at Riverstage.

Then the world caught on. Signed by Rüfüs Du Sol’s Rose Avenue Records, the mesmerising siblings have toured the US and are heading back home fresh from a spot a mega-festival Coachella, one of the most coveted gigs for artists around the planet. They’re quickly developing a worldwide rep for being one of the most exciting acts to come out of Australia’s thriving electronica scene.

Now the progressive electronic twosome, having explored a new sonic territory under the sure hand of Du Sol, are returning to Australia for a national tour that includes Splendour in the Grass at Byron in July, and a hometown side gig at our very own Miami Marketta, which is sure to go off as crowds welcome home our returning superstars.

Tickets are moving fast. Don’t miss the opportunity to catch Lastlings when they hit Marketta on 5 July.
