Lazy Eye, one of Australia’s most celebrated blues outfits hits the Gold Coast later this month as part of their national tour to support their latest album Pocket The Black. The tour follows on from their recent visit to the U.S. where they competed in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis and a gig at B.B. King’s legendary blues club on Beal Street.
In 2015 the South Australian three piece were named Group of the Year at the Australian Blues Music Awards and now their latest album has chalked up the 2016 Blues Album Of The Year from the Adelaide Roots & Blues Association.
The band play a soulful blend of electric delta blues driven by the dexterous lead guitar work and sultry vocals courtesy of Erica Graf, classic Hammond B3 grooves, wailing harmonica and vocals from Evan Whetter with Mario Marino holding down the beat in the engine room.
If you like your classic 12 bar blues served with grits n’ gravy and washed down with a shot of whiskey or three check out Lazy Eye at the Burleigh Underground Drummer on Saturday November 26.
