The 2017 Gold Coast Film Festival comes to Robina Town Centre this week, with locals being given the opportunity to star in their own micro-movies.
Robina Town Centre’s Lights… Camera… GIF! is a free activation which will see innovative technology and state-of-the-art, 360-degree photography equipment come together to give shoppers a taste of what it’s like to be on a multi-million dollar Hollywood film set.
Movie buffs will be the star of their own four-second mini film as they strike a pose and are captured in real time by 32 highly advanced, time-splice cameras positioned around the activation space, ultimately creating an instant video GIF for the user to share across their social media channels.
‘Doco’ fans will also relish the launch of ‘Documentary Season’ at Event Cinemas Robina, which is set to feature a collection of inspiring, moving and captivating independent films, screening from Thursday 20 April until Sunday 30 April.
From Uncontained Love by award-winning Queensland cinematographer Jude Kalman; to Whiteley, a look into the private life of iconic Australian artist Brett Whiteley; Supergirl, the story of a nine-year old powerlifting phenomenon; and finally Ella, a tale of Australia’s first indigenous dancer to join the Australian Ballet, Gold Coast Film Festival has curated an incredibly diverse line up of feature films that will bring the big screen to life.
Robina Town Centre is also giving one lucky movie buff the chance to win a $500 Event Cinemas Robina gift card through its #LightsCameraGifRobina competition, where shoppers are encouraged to share their own GIFs on their Facebook page with the hash tag #LightsCameraGifRobina.
