SWELL Sculpture Festival is just around the corner, and just in time, the musical lineup for SWELL Sounds has been announced.
Taking over the SWELL Sounds stage on the two weekends of the popular festival is a veritable who’s who of the Gold Coast Music scene. An eclectic range of artists will share their soulful folk, roots, beats, howling rock and hip-hop-funk stylings with crowds at the annual event.
Bringing their laid-back beach vibe to the first Saturday headline is one of the hottest reggae bands on the Gold Coast, Kimmy & Crew, while funk legends Electrik Lemonade will light up the night at the final Saturday event on 16 September. Scene stalwarts Felicity Lawless, Benny D Williams, Phil Barlow, CC The Cat and more will lend their sounds to the beachside event over the two massive weekends of art and music.
Now celebrating its fifteenth year, SWELL Sculpture festival will see the golden sands of Currumbin Beach transformed into a dazzling landscape of interactive and inspiring public art amid a carnival atmosphere of live entertainment, street food, artist talks and masterclasses for all ages.
The 10-day exhibition will see up to 50 Australian and international artists display thought-provoking works plotted along a 1km stretch of coastline, highlighting a range of social, environmental and contemporary issues. SWELL runs from 8 – 17 September 2017 at Currumbin Beach.
