If you want to catch California Garage Band rockers Oh Sees, your last chance is is now, as tonight’s gig at Miami Marketta is set to crush.
This is their first tour in Australia since 2016, and well worth catching. They have had almost as many name changes as albums, (Well not really 20 albums over various incarnations since 1997), but these guys are something to (oh) see. The band has changed its lineup and name several times, having previously been known as Orinoka Crash Suite, OCS, Orange County Sound, The Ohsees, The Oh Sees, and Thee Oh Sees. They are dynamic, energetic, and the Oh Sees sound incorporates a wide range of genres, including 1960s garage rock and psychedelic rock, punk, noise rock, art punk, and 1980’s post punk.
The energy from founding member / songwriter / guitarist /singer John Dwyer is enough to power the amplifiers he plays. These guys rock at a billion beats per minute. If you are coming along get ready to move, because if you are standing still when these guys are playing you must be dead or unconscious.
You don’t want to hear how good these guys were tonight, you want to see it for yourself.
Oh Sees – Miami Marketta Friday 22 February with support ORB. Ticket via OZTIX or a the Door.
