The temperature is officially set to rise in Australia this coming February, as one of New Zealand’s largest music festivals ‘One Love Festival’ announces plans to head across the ditch for the first time in 2020.
Headlined by Jamaican dancehall legend Sean Paul and Mr. Boombastic himself, Shaggy, the iconic reggae and dancehall festival will bring together OGs of reggae Toots and the Maytals, Polynesian legends FIJI and New Zealand headliners Sons of Zion for the first time for Australian audiences.
1814, Third World, Lion Rezz, PAUA and One Love DJs will also provide support, as the festival lands at Broadwater Parklands on the Gold Coast on Saturday 1 February, 2020.
“Australia, it’s been far too long since I’ve had the chance to perform in your wonderful country,” said headliner Sean Paul. “I can’t think of a better reason to get back down under, than to perform on the Gold Coast with a line-up stacked with amazing artists at One Love Festival 2020!”
Having sold out the past four years in a row in its hometown of Tauranga in New Zealand, One Love Festival has made its first international step, with the announcement of its first date in Australia set for 2020.
“We feel that Queensland audiences have a real affinity with Reggae and Roots music,” said MJR Presents Promoter Scott Mesiti. “Coupled with the stunning backdrop that Gold Coast provides; great weather, water views and a relaxed vibe, it was an obvious choice for us to hold the very first edition of One Love.”
