Pig Day Out is back and radder than ever

Come and watch the city’s best live music, skaters and graffiti artists while enjoying mouth-watering food and craft drinks at this year’s Pig Day Out.

Pig Day Out 2019 is an 10-hour festival showcasing some of Australia’s talent – Tuka of the Thundamentals, Eliza & The Delusionals, The Vanns, and Great Gable are just four of the 10 acts who will be performing on the day – alongside a skateboarding demo from Pharside Skate Shop and live graffiti artist Basix and Kitten.

Festival organiser Joel Colombo created the boutique music, skate and art festival event five years ago and will be making the events first public debut at one of Burleigh’s best venues, BBQ Bazaar on 8 September.

“I started the festival on my home property in Piggabeen in 2012 and 100 mates turned up. That’s when I  realised my passion and there was a real need to showcase more events on the Gold Coast,” he said.

“I ended up hosting another four events on my property and had stacks of artists come along to support it, from Aria award winner Bob Evans, Peach Fur and Goodbye Joker.

“Over the past couple of years I’ve built it into more than just a live music event. Pig Day Out is a collaboration of music, skating and art and supporting people who are building a career in the creative industry.

“I’m really stoked to bring my dream to life. It’s going to be incredible to see all this talent in one location. It’s going to be the perfect opportunity to see some of the city’s most powerful artists get together on the Gold Coast for the love of live music and entertainment.”

Pig Day Out will be held at BBQ Bazaar, Burleigh Heads on 8 September. It’s an 18 + event. Tickets can be purchased here.
