SANCTUARY COVE ROLLS OUT RED CARPET FOR THIRD ANNUAL FILM FESTIVAL

Film buffs are set to indulge in a showcase of cinematic genius set against one of the world’s most spectacular backdrops as Mulpha Sanctuary Cove presents the third annual Sanctuary Film Festival on Saturday 25 November  and Sunday 26 November.

In 2017, the event steps up a notch with the debut of a FREE all-day outdoor film extravaganza on Saturday featuring roving entertainment, workshops and a unique kids film festival, culminating in a showcase of 14 thought-provoking short films by talented emerging Australian and international filmmakers.

A BAFTA Los Angeles winner and Australian Academy Awards nominee, New South Wales filmmaker, producer and actor Julian Ramundi’s short film ‘Gone’ will be amongst the films screened at the event.

The film was selected from more than 15,000 entries as one of 50 semi-finalists for the Your Film Festival – a global film competition conducted by Ridley Scott, Michael Fassbender, Google, Emirates and the Venice Film Festival.

The brainchild of Mike Goldman and Bianca Zouppas, Sanctuary Film Festival kicks off at 11am on Saturday with performers and musicians creating a carnival atmosphere, with two industry-inspired workshops running throughout the day to spark the imagination of budding young actors and film fans.

Kids can channel their Hollywood actor during the Star In A Film workshop, or try their hand at creating looks both ghoulish and glamorous at the Special FX Make-Up session, hosted by a professional artist. Workshops will be held each day between 12:30pm & 4:00pm.

Then from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, families will enjoy a special selection of animated films just for young ones, before the red carpet is rolled out for the headline short films from 7:00pm.

Relax under the stars and be transported to cinematic worlds as the works of talented short filmmakers are showcased on the big outdoor screen from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

For those wishing to dial up the glamour, a limited number of VIP tickets are available for $80 each, including exclusive red-carpet entry to the short film festival along with drinks and canapés, as well as entry to the documentary and feature showing at Illusions Theatre Sanctuary Cove on Sunday.

A total of 30 films across varying categories including feature films, shorts and documentaries have been shortlisted by the Sanctuary Film Festival.
