The latest movie from surfing magazine Surfing World is entitled ‘Scary Good’, and is having a viewing near you this October.
‘Scary Good’ is not just a surf video, but a movie which explores surf and youth culture. Directed by Vaughan Blakey, SW Editor and also member of the infamous “Goons of Doom”, this movie showcases some of the best surfers around – who also happen to play in bands.
As Blakey says, “We set up a studio in a remote location for to record and surf our brains out. The potential for failure? Immense. The chances of having a hell time? Absolute!”
The film features Creed Mactaggart, Beau Foster, Ellis Ericsson, Wade Goodall, Matt Hoy, Ozzie Wright, Otis Carey, Dane Reynolds, Garret Parkes, Duncan McNicol, Harry Bryant, Dimity Stoyle, Jake Vincent, Andrew Johns and loads more.
Surf thrash rock and surfing: it will be definitely one to check out.
Events are happening on Friday 20 October at Rainbow Bay SLSC, and Sunday 22 October at the Bungalow Hotel. They will feature the screening of the movie, followed by sets from Wash and The Cloacas.
