It’s a long road. We all know that. Playing pokey digs. To just a handful of people. Recording in dodgy spaces. Using beer as currency. But Amy Shark thinks it’s all been about building up to this moment. The launch of her new single Spits on Girls.
Shark thinks its the best song she’s written so she enlisted Eden Mullholland (who she nicknamed the garden of) to help her take it where it needs to go. The single was crafted and produced at Blind Boy studios, right here on the Gold Coast.
Her debut EP came out in early 2014 to positive reviews, followed by a sell-out EP launch in her home town.
“Reflecting on it now it feels like a great learning experience,” Shark said.
Amy Shark been writing and performing underground tunes that have been circulating many Gold Coast bedrooms for the last five years. She’s has played Valley Fiesta, Skilled Park Stadium, Bleach Festival and supported the likes of Matt Corby and The Delta Riggs.
Amy launches Spits on Girls at The Loft Friday 4 July and national tour plans are on the drawing board. You can listen to the single here.
