Stryper hit the Aussie road for God Damn Evil tour

Fresh from controversy about their new album ‘God Damn Evil’ having too risque a title for the shelves of major US retail outlets, Stryper bring their flying-vee goodness to the shores of down under. After 35 years, 10 studio recordings and 10 million album sales, Stryper know their way around a recording, and also are familiar with the stage having rocked their heavy metal, scripture inspired collection of material since kicking off back in 1983.

When they play The Triffid on 21 August, classic tracks like ‘To Hell with the Devil’, ‘Always There For You’ and ‘In God We Trust’ are sure to feature alongside the new record’s offerings which, on occasion, test the waters of thrash. The Sweet brothers, amongst two of the three original members who tour with the band, still sport their stereotypical brand and their undeniable musical style, marrying themes of love, respect and a greater good to the heavy metal and hard rock they are known for.

Songwriter Michael Sweet summed up his expectations for the Australian tour; “We have the best fans in the world and the band is at the top of its game musically and spiritually. We look forward to seeing everyone on the road.”
