‘Coming Into Fashion’ brings fashion luminaries to the table in Talk Suite

Fashion photography has gripped us for over 100 years. Many of the legends achieved their greatness at the Condé Nast studios in New York, Paris, and London. With unprecedented access to the archives of each city, ‘Coming into Fashion’ is an exhibition tracking the highlights of this sparkling intersection between photography and fashion, being held at the Gold Coast City Gallery from November to February, and includes a range of special events.

Talk Suite is a full-day forum being held as part of the mammoth Coming Into Fashion event. Talk Suite will see the biggest names in Australian and international fashion come together with journalists, practitioners, and thought leaders to discuss their expertise and the future of the industry, and will include two full panels and two intimate in-conversation sessions. The day’s program is outlined below:

Condé Nast, the empire: 10am – 11am

This panel will see the Coming into Fashion Exhibition Curator Natalie Herschdorfer, Exhibition Manager Todd Brandow, Vogue Australia Deputy Editor Sophie Tedmanson, and curator and writer Alison Kubler (pictured) come together to discuss the enduring legacy of publishing house Condé Nast.

Oracle Fox talks: 11.15am – 12.15pm

Amanda Shadforth is the brains and creative genius behind one of the world’s most recognised fashion destinations, Oracle Fox.

Sunday Best to Fast Fashion: 1.30pm – 2.30pm

How has the way we make, sell, and market clothes changed? Listen in to an illuminating (and at times alarming) conversation with Clare Press, the highly regarded author of Wardrobe Crisis: How We Went From Sunday Best to Fast Fashion.

Fashion and the sartorial gentleman: 2.45pm – 3.45pm

The final session for the day will be a lively discussion between two of fashion’s finest gentlemen, hosted by Alison Kubler.

Limited tickets are available at theartscentregc.com.au, for only $45. Fashion lovers had best get in fast to score their spots.
