British rockers and strong contenders for the title of ‘best band in the universe’, The Darkness are set to play the Eatons Hill Hotel on April 27.
Amidst their Groovin The Moo appearances across the nation the glam revivalists will play shows in several Australian cities as well to promote their as yet untitled seventh studio album set to be released in September.
The band last graced these shores in November 2015 when they delivered an exceptional performance at The Tivoli to a modest crowd of grateful rock fans. But word gets around and when punters realise that The Darkness are back to their lavish, explosive, spandex clad best, Eatons Hill is sure to be a sell-out.
For the uninitiated, The Darkness first exploded out of the UK in 2003 with the release of Permission To Land including the hit single I Believe In A Thing Called Love. After issues with substance abuse – as you do when you’re in an excessive rock band – The Darkness re-emerged with the original line-up in 2011 and those worshipping at the alter of rock rejoiced.
Armed with rock royalty for the last few years in the form of drummer, Rufus Taylor (son of Queen drummer, Roger), The Darkness are a sure thing. Put this one in the diary.
The lads roll into the Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane on April 27. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster.
