They’re back and totally up for it. The Presets have announced a national tour launching their long-awaited studio album ‘Hi Viz’.
The announcement comes on the back of The Presets’ first new track in almost four years. The Australian electro-dance pioneering duo – Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes – first set festival fields alight with anthems like ‘My People’ and ‘Talk Like That’ and they’ve been making waves in clubs ever since. Their 2008 chart-topper ‘Apocalypso’ went triple platinum and won them six ARIA Awards and their follow-up, 2012’s ‘Pacifica’ saw them undertake epic festival tours around the world – from Glastonbury to Splendour and Coachella.
Now their new album ‘Hi Viz’, which drops 18 May, is set to deliver a ‘back to basics’ sound, curated purely as a proxy for The Presets’ live experience.
When The Presets tour Australia, they’ll drop into the Gold Coast with a big set planned for Nightquarter in Helensvale. Tickets are on sale Wednesday 11 April.
“All the songs on HI VIZ are outward looking so in that respect it’s much more like our earlier stuff.” says Julian Hamilton of the new release.
It’s about trying to capture that energy you get on a great night out with your friends when you get to leave everything else behind you for a while. We essentially tried to create the soundtrack to a party that we would want to go nuts at.
Joining The Presets across all their Australian tour dates, Roland Tings will bring his propulsive cuts and dynamic live set to the fore.
