Brisbane’s The Royal Artillery (TRA) have hit the Gold Coast with their new heavy blues single ‘I Don’t Need To Know Your Name’ with supporting tour through August and September. They bring a renewed approach to the White Stripes/ Black Keys school of blues-rock duo, bringing together catchy and groove worthy rhythms. They duo recently played Miami Shark Bar last weekend, bringing their incredible old school vibe to the Goldie. Their next Gold Coast show is tomorrow, Thursday 3 August, at the Wallaby Hotel, followed by a show at Bangalow Bowlo on Friday 4 August.
The Royal Artillery have also brought Brisbane band Elko Fields along for the ride on their national tour around the country.
TRA had a line-up change in 2016 which has seen an evolution of the group, culminating in a new approach and an entirely new live-set. Frontman and founding band member Zed Charles has led the band through the transition, which has seen them take the festival scene by storm at Wollombi Music Festival and Mojo Burning. Meanwhile they have been notching up select plays on Triple J, charting in the 4ZZZ Hot 100 and winning Crowbar’s ‘So You Think You Can Shred’ guitar competition. The duo have also recently supported some great bands including Butterfingers, Transvall Diamonds Syndicate and The Dead Love this year.
