Legendary Aussie group The Stems are gearing up for a blockbusting national tour in celebration of the 30 year anniversary of their high watermark album, ‘At First Sight Violets Are Blue’.
Released back in 1987, the album perfectly encapsulated the band’s signature 60’s inspired guitar-pop perfection, which has seen them cherished and respected both here and overseas. While part of the 80’s independent music scene, the album broke the band onto the mainstream charts in the form of high rotation singles ‘At First Sight’, ‘Sad Girl’ and ‘For Always’.
To celebrate the album and tour, Sydney’s Citadel Records have just re-released the album as a limited edition, remastered CD digipak, including three bonus cuts. For those with an ear for revolving black platters, it will also be getting the vinyl reissue treatment early in the new year.
November sees the band play a run of shows around the country, including a highly anticipated show at The Triffid in Brisbane on Saturday, 18 November. And as an added bonus, theremin driven garage rockers Rocket Science will also be appearing as special guests on the bill.
