Winternight 2014 presented by Blank GC

Presented by Blank and Reservoir PR+MGMT, Winternight brings you a stellar lineup of local talent.

These Four Walls, Smoking Martha (pictured), Mass Sky Raid, Versus Fate and Pharaoh’s Playground descend on the Cooly to help you through the depths of winter.

These five bands cross vintage rock n soul and alt prog-rock genres for just one night, Saturday 2 August.

The first 30 people through the door get a free CD, vinyl or download from one of the bands and tickets are only $15.

About the bands

THESE FOUR WALLS hail from Auckland but these days the Gold Coast is their home turf. Perhaps best known for their live shows, which are typically loud, heavy & tight with uniquely powerful vocal performances from singer Steve Gibb; their reputation has earned the band support slots for several touring international bands including Disturbed, Nickelback and Trivium, as well as Karnivool & The Butterfly Effect. Vintage rock’n’soulers Smoking Martha have been blistering on Bris & GC stages lately after releasing their debut self-titled EP featuring Sweet As Honey … getting rave reviews for their live shows and even Triple M citing them ‘a band to watch’! Read Blank GC’s review here.

GC alt/prog rockers Mass Sky Raid are working on the follow up release to their acclaimed debut EP ‘Courage Under Fire’ (4.5 out of 5 stars in Blunt Mag). Have supported the likes of Dead Letter Circus, Twelve Foot Ninja & Electric Horse as well as being invited to join I Am Giant on their upcoming Aus tour…

Melodic rockers Versus Fate might have only formed in recent times but they are no strangers to the local music scene, with the 5 bandmembers coming together from Gold Coast acts such as Verusive and Velvet Ballroom. This show is sure to be a blistering debut on the GC live scene!

A lot has changed since Brisbane trio Pharoah’s Playground first tread the boards in the 90s, but one thing hasn’t according to the Courier Mail “The more you work at it, the better you get” heralding their latest ‘Stonesy/Black Crowes style groove’ release as the best album of their lives.
