He may have moved to the Sunshine Coast and away from our neck of the woods (if you count New Brighton, NSW as “our neck of the woods”) but Xavier Rudd hasn’t forgotten us. The spiritual, rootsy troubadour is returning to the Gold Coast August 10 to play songs from his new album ‘Stormboy’ at Nightquarter. It’s been three years since his collaboration album ‘Nanna’, and six years since his last solo album ‘Spirit Bird’. ‘Stormboy’ is a return to Rudd’s unmistakeable acoustic guitar and uplifting lyrics, and as always, projects his social conscience. It also pays homage to the 1976 film of the same name and it’s star, Mr Percival the pelican.
