Aaron West Headlines Sunday Sounds as Search for Fresh Talent Continues

Up-and-coming musicians have another opportunity to realise their dreams of performing at one of the Gold Coast’s most exciting live events, as Sanctuary Cove releases the next round of its popular Sunday Sounds Young Talent program.

This year’s first winter edition of the much-loved free, family friendly event will see headliners Aaron West and the Custodians, and supporting act, Mark Divola, set the scene for an afternoon of lively grooves in The Marine Village at the Gold Coast’s premier lifestyle destination of Sanctuary Cove.

The next Young Talent winner, to be announced ahead of Sunday Sounds in June, will perform an entrée to a much-anticipated show by the acclaimed Aaron West and the Custodians, who are set to ignite the stage with their sultry strains of soul, rhythm and blues, gospel and funk.

The unassuming Aaron West has made waves with his recent African -American soul / blues album 504 Soul, recorded in New Orleans and generating quite a buzz amongst his peers.  When he spoke with Blank’s editor, he had some opinions about the quality of musicians to be found on the Gold Coast.

“There are a lot of world-class players here.  They don’t get a lot of credit.”

Seeking to provide a platform for talented yet unknown artists, the The Sunday Sounds Young Talent Program offers gifted local performers under the age of 18 an opportunity to showcase their vocal abilities.

Applications for the Sunday Sounds Young Talent program close on Monday, June 6.

To enter, amateur artists are required to submit a performance video link or demo track to Mulpha Sanctuary Cove by emailing events@sanctuarycove.com
