Artist incubator opportunity elevates contemporary circus on the Gold Coast

A unique contemporary circus artist incubator opportunity, Elevate by Circus Corridor, is taking over the Spiegeltent in Victoria Park from 3 – 10 April.

Circus Corridor is a collective of dedicated performing artists, directors and community workers who are leaders in their respective fields of practice, and they are inviting local artists and national circus leaders to come together and produce new work for a showcase and panel talk on 10 April.

Elevate is aiming to activate a unique culture of contemporary circus on the Gold Coast with the support of the City of Gold Coast and ACAPTA. The Elevate Artist Incubator is a week-long intensive that brings local emerging circus and physical performance artists together with highly experience guest mentors Anni Davey and Skye Gellman from the contemporary circus sector to develop new ways of creating and devising contemporary physical performance.

The aim of the Circus Corridor is to facilitate the engagement of both artist and audience, providing opportunities to participate, develop and explore opportunities to activate the Gold Coast with an explosion of circus presence.  The Circus Corridor is supported by the City of Gold Coast through the Accelerate Triennial Funding Program.

The showcase and panel talk will run on 10 April at the Spiegeltent in Victoria Park, Broadbeach. The artist showcase will run from 3.30-4.30pm and the panel from 4.30-6.30pm. Entry is via gold coin donation.
