Musicals, ballet, symphony orchestras and works that honour our Indigenous cultural heritage are all part of the Arts Centre Gold Coast’s world class 2015 season, launched this week.
Queensland Theatre Company will kick off the 2015 season with Boston Marriage (pictured), a quick-fire comedy starring Amanda Muggleton. And following from the success of Jesus Christ Superstar which was staged at the Centre this year, Miss Saigon will also feature in the 2015 program of events.
Ernie Dingo will also take to the stage in The New Black, an urban contemporary aboriginal musical and a modern take on swing classics will roll into town when Swing On This takes place.
It’s hard to capture the entire program in just one post – there’s carnival performances for children and families, there’s the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow, string ensembles and tenors, bucketloads of theatre, epic musicals, Bangarra Dance Company and my personal highlight, the Queensland Symphony Orchestra playing Bolero.
There are 26 shows in the Season, including Main Stage, Independent Season, Family Series and A Morning With…. and the Centre is offering Season Packages which drastically reduce ticket prices for those who love the theatre.
