It’s been a crazy week of festival announcements for our little neck of the woods. Buskers by the Creek, then Wallapalooza, then Falls Festival and now this.
Bluesfest 2017 has announced the first of many acts to be included in the five-day festival’s lineup. The announcement includes Bluesfest debuts from iconic artists as well as a heap of exclusive performances and of course, the return of Bluesfest favourites.
Zac Brown Band leads the bill alongside Patti Smith and her band perform Horses and the Lumineers. Buddy Guy, Mavis Staples and Beth Hart (pictured in feature image) all play exclusive sets at Bluesfest and Billy Bragg, Bonnie Raitt, Jethro Tull, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue also get a look-in.
The 28th annual Bluesfest will be held over the Easter long weekend from Thursday 13 – Monday 17 April.
Known for presenting its audience with multiple spectacular artist releases over many months (the event is eight months away for crying out loud), the five day musical extravaganza will be held once again at its lush 120 hectare home, just outside Byron Bay.
The multiple award-winning festival has already reported record pre-sales for 2017 and now with just one artist announcement down, is already shaping up to be another extraordinary festival experience.
