Boomerang Bags is one of the Gold Coast’s fastest growing positive environmental establishments. Their message of conscious waste awareness and community education on the impact of plastic on our ecosystems and economy is spreading far and wide.
Their vision for a world that is plastic-free is clearly not one that the huge team at Boomerang Bags alone shares, as they combine forces with several organisations across Australia to eradicate the use and creation of plastic items. Their forward thinking and persistence is paying off as more and more of the community come forward to lend a hand and make a difference.
This month they took over Miami Organic Markets with a range of locally hand made, up-cycled bags using donated and ethically sourced materials. Collaborating with David, Manager at Miami Organic Markets, the aim is to progressively eliminate the use of plastic by offering the community a variety of affordable packaging options from breathable produce bags to over the shoulder carriers and recycled boxes.
To boost this initiative David has purchased 100 produce bags, the latest product to emerge from Boomerang Bags, to hand to customers along with important information on how little effort is needed to make a positive impact on our environment.
Every Sunday the Boomerang Bags team will be positioned front and centre from 6.30 am to midday offering a range of versatile bags as well as other popular sustainable items from bamboo toothbrushes to reusable stainless steel water bottles and straws. Come and see what Boomerang Bags are doing in your community and learn about how together we can make choices to ensure our environment is able to support us for generations to come.
