Fresh after the National Tour for their new ‘Man, Woman, Life, Death, Infinity’ album, original Australian psychedelic rockers The Church have announced their first Gold Coast gig in almost a decade, at the Parkwood Tavern on Friday 16 March.
Their last tour was a sell out, and only did capital cities, but this time they will be playing the Parkwood Tavern, and tickets are sure to sell out fast.
Steve Kilbey is in fine voice and the new album has been well received by The Church fans. He calls it his water album.
“I guess water is my element. I’ve always marveled at the sea and rivers and rain. It wasn’t conscious at all but on reflection, it definitely is a preoccupation on this record. What that means, I don’t know,” he says.
“This is an album we’re really looking forward to exploring live. The way I write lyrics is very stream-of-consciousness. I never question them until we perform live, so I discover them in time as much as the audience.”
The Church will be support by Alabama-based alternative group Remi Zero.
Tickets are $44.00 plus booking fee, from Oztix.
