This weekend is the Broadbeach Country Music Festival. 30 different artists on various stages. It’s every country music fan’s dream come true.
Headlining this year’s Festival is the wonderful trio of sisters, The McClymonts.
The McClymonts (Brooke, Sam and Mollie) are a household name in country music. Multiple ARIA Awards, CMC Awards, Golden Guitars and APRA awards. Their bio reads like world seasoned performers on world stages, but these country gals are down to earth, hilarious, fun and of course, extremely talented.
The girls and I go way back so I caught up with Brooke for a chat about their first appearance at the Broadbeach Country Music Festival. Brooke (McClymont) can’t wait to get here.
“This will be our first time and it’s so very exciting to be a part of this fantastic Festival, I mean, what more do you want in a Festival, the beach and country music. It’s perfect,” she said.
“It is winter but it doesn’t matter ‘cos the Gold Coast is also lovely so we can all rock out and have lots of fun. That’s the other thing that is so awesome is that whole Festival experience is FREE. I think a lot of people struggle these days with the demands of providing for their families, so again, it’s really great for country music lovers, fan, even people just passing by or visiting the Gold Coast, to actually stop, see and hear what Australian country music has to offer ‘cos it’s definitely growing. Plus, a FREE country music showcase like this gives you no reason not to have something to do this weekend”
The McClymonts would be one of Australian country music’s hardest working trios. Multiple award winning albums, touring extensively around Australia and headlining some of our biggest Festivals, but this year’s Country Music Festival is one the girls are going to be especially fond of.
“It’s only in its third year and it’s gotten so big already, we’re so excited to be playing there. It’s a credit to the Festival organisers for putting such a great event together like this. There aren’t many places these days you can go and see 30 great bands for free, we can’t wait”
The girls will be at Pacific Fair Shopping Centre at 11:45am Sunday morning for meet and greets with the fans and then heading to their one and only show of the Festival on the Surf Parade Stage at 3:40pm
To see the magnificent McClymonts LIVE and FREE at the Broadbeach Country Music Festival ….. now isn’t that worth doing this weekend? I think so.
