If you were one of the tens of thousands of people who ventured down to Currumbin Beach for Swell Sculpture Festival 2015 you will have seen Leonie Rhodes’ piece.
Entitled The Wall it was a beacon not just for visitors to the Festival, but to exhibiting artists as well, who were seen swarming around the installation for days, armed with spray cans and large marker pens.
I often wonder what happens to these pieces of art after an event like Swell, and if you do to, a special exhibition at Dust Temple this month will give you an insight.
Leonie’s piece has been reimagined.
LLAW is an exhibition of collaborative graffiti artworks. Part Leonie and part art consumer.
The exhibition opens at Dust Temple on Saturday 7 November from 7.00pm. It will feature Boom Boom Bean Selecta plus special guests with drum and bass, hip-hop, ska and soul the order of the day.
The exhibition is just one of a tonne of events happening at Dust Temple, located at 54 Currumbin Creek Road over the coming month. Photography, poetry and live music are also on offer. Get details at dusttemple.com.au.
