Alex Lahey is bringing her pop-punk energy to this year’s Festival of the Stone on Saturday 8 June, alongside internationally celebrated producer Alice Ivy and soul queen Lisa Hunt, an all-female headliner show, and as tix are nearly gone, this is your last chance to jump in.
Following her success at last year’s Splendour in the Grass, Alex Lahey will entertain the biggest Festival of the Stone audience to date with tracks from her two critically acclaimed albums, with the latest, The Best of Luck Club, dropping on 17 May.
Meanwhile, Alice Ivy’s neo-jazz electronica has supported major international acts like Billie Eilish, Flight Facilities and Foster the People, while Lisa Hunt remains a fixture on the local music scene with her strong vocals and lively soul covers.
Joining the headliners are the 28-man ‘Russian’ choir from Mullumbimby, Dustyesky, who became a national Russian news story in 2017, plus several live DJs and rock n’ roll for the kids with Bunny Racket.
Opened in December 2018 with a greater capacity than the former brewery, the new Stone & Wood brewery and Tasting Room will accommodate the biggest Festival of the Stone to date, with food trucks, their Malt Disney kids’ area and beers pouring from their dedicated beer truck and Troopie, Clyde and Trevor.
A family-friendly community event, last year the Festival raised $17,000 for Stone & Wood’s national not-for-profit the inGrained Foundation, which it donated to Northern Rivers-based Big Scrub Landcare. This year, all event profits will again go to the inGrained Foundation for donation to Mullumbimby District Neighbourhood Centre.
Festival Stone runs on Saturday 8 June at Stone & Wood brewery in Byron. General tickets are on sale now ($45 +BF) through Eventbrite, which includes a tasting of Stone & Wood’s seasonal limited Stone Beer. Ticket sales contribute to the donation amount for the chosen local charity.
