The Gold Coast Multicultural Festival is preparing for another record-breaking community event to be held on Sunday 1 November.
50,000 visitors attended the event last year making it the largest cultural event in the region and head of the festival Ben Brauer said that this year there will be three stages, 25 food stalls and another 40 stalls with craft and cultural displays. 35 cultural groups will be represented through food, dance, music, art and craft with performers coming from Byron Bay to the Sunshine Coast.
“Per latest statistics, 27.9% of the Gold Coast residents were born overseas and so the festival is really aimed at celebrating their cultures, but also to educate and unite the entire community,” Brauer said
Besides the many cultural groups, visitors of the Festival can also enjoy special performances from The Voice 2015 candidates Lyndall Wennekes, Team Delta, and Nina Baumer, Team Madden.
“Both Lyndall and Nina are wonderful attributes to the festival and we are very excited to see them perform as well as all of our other artists.”
The GC Multicultural Festival will run from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Sunday 1 November and entry is only $5 for adults.
