Artists take over Gold Coast for epic public games of hide and seek

As a part of an ongoing creative development in 2021, City of Gold Coast GENERATE artist Ainslee Palmer and her wonderful team are hosting monthly public HIDE AND SEEK sessions. These games will be played throughout the Gold Coast with each monthly session in a new location. The team is currently ‘seeking’ (sorry) HIDERS to bring the beautiful Gold Coast locations to life and help the team find the BEST hiding spots on the Gold Coast!

2020 might be over but a majority of the world is still in turmoil, with a global pandemic, climate change, and the patriarchy on our hands we believe everyone needs time to forget about the world
and PLAY! This is not your traditional game of Hide and Seek, our team of artists are using experience and data from our participants and previous development to build the ULTIMATE game of Hide and Seek!

THESE EVENTS AIM TO CREATE A THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE WHEREBY THE AUDIENCE GETS TO THROW OUT THE RULE BOOK, FORGET RESPONSIBILITIES, AND PLAY.

Monthly games of Hide and Seek will be held in various parts of the Gold Coast. The first game will be held on Saturday 30 January at Marlin Waters Park in Currumbin Waters. Registration is $5 per participant; this fee will go towards engaging artists within the project. During the game, participants may be given prompts to ponder while they explore and engage with the beautiful natural space the Gold Coast has to offer.
