Glowing Green Australia has partnered with Surfrider and local community stakeholders to host a park and ocean clean of Jack Evans Boat Harbour Park and Tweed River surrounding shoreline.
This inspiring event has one purpose, and one purpose only. To better our environment. Of course, with this goal in mind, there are many tasks to achieve. It also takes a community of committed green thumbs to get the job done. That’s exactly what Glowing Green Australia, Surfrider and the local community want to accomplish with this shoreline clean-up.
On the first day of Summer, December 1, at the fresh hour of 7:00am at Jack Evans Boat Harbour Park, (park next to Twin Towns) Tweed Heads, the clean-up will commence. Divers will take to the water to clean up the ocean and riverbed while a group will stay on land cleaning up the parks, shorelines and beaches.
Of course, a hardworking event like this wouldn’t go without providing refreshments! Currumbin Coffee Van will stick close by to provide you with your caffeinated or non-caffeinated fix. However, with no re-usable cup, no coffee. This is one of the many aspects used to promote a call to action on reducing consumption of single-use products.
The community partners for this family friendly event are Ramsden Lawyers, Sustainable School Network, Study Gold Coast, Climate Wave Enterprises, Gecko Environment Council, Currumbin Coffee.
Things for you to remember are that there is no need to print a registration ticket it out. Just rock up, come to the registration tent, tick your name off the list and your good to go! Bring Water (REUSABLE BOTTLE PLEASE). Please wear SUNSMART attire to the event as well.
REMEMBER NO REUSABLE CUP NO COFFEE! Please bring your reusable cups for coffee and cold hot beverages – if you forget we will have some available. The Currumbin Coffee Van won’t be supplying any single use cups.
If you have your own gardening gloves, buckets, pick up sticks etc, please bring them to support us not purchasing more products.
