A free-roam, fully immersive virtual reality experience is set to get your adrenaline pumping in November.
Local company, Ultimate Virtual Reality, is bringing Zero Latency to the Gold Coast, offering hyper realistic, mind blowing, virtual worlds, like nothing our city has ever seen before.
Up to eight players are free to roam around a 200sqm arena in an immersive virtual universe powered by Zero Latency. Participants can explore different worlds and respond to the other players through their avatar.
Initially there will be six unique experiences on offer ranging from fighting a zombie apocalypse, rescuing a space station and walking through a fantastical dreamlike universe.
The games are suitable for 13+ years and run from 15 to 30 minutes on average with up to eight players in a heart-thumping, totally convincing experience.
Zero Latency’s Gold Coast Managing Director, Tristian Swasbrook, said Zero Latency guests, along with their friends, family or colleagues, get fitted with state-of-the-art VR headsets, headphones, military-style backpacks and controllers and enter a virtual world together.
“One moment you’re living in your own world, the next you’re lost in ours, you know you’re just visiting, but your mind is convinced otherwise,” he said.
“Players see each other as full-motion avatars and can warn, strategize and banter with their mates in games.”
“You’re not tethered by wires or confined to one spot, you get to roam about, run and crouch, hold a ‘weapon’, take aim, and shoot.”
Mr Swasbrook said it is important to know that Zero Latency isn’t just for gamers. “You don’t have to have any videogame skills to enjoy being immersed into another world and being transfigured into an avatar,” he said.
“It is a highly engaging entertainment for men and women of all ages and is perfect for corporate functions, events and parties.”
The Zero Latency arena is located in Southport with prices starting from $29 per player per game. Packages available for corporate functions, team building sessions and Christmas parties. Go to www.zerolatencygc.com.au for more information.
