Groundwater Country Festival drops 2018 lineup

Groundwater Country Music Festival

Groundwater Country Music Festival, previously known as Broadbeach Country has announced its lineup for 2018. In only its sixth year, the event has grown dramatically with more than 54,000 people attending in 2017.

This year, for three big days and nights in July, Groundwater Country Music Festival will play host to Golden Guitar winners The McClymonts, US country stars Granger Smith, Lillie Mae and Joshua Hedley and Australian country darlings Bill Chambers, Adam Harvey and O’Shea. Gold Coast’s Casey Barnes is also on the lineup.

The event boasts ten stages for 2018 and the festival is all-ages and totally free.

As well as helping boost the City’s reputation as the event capital of Australia, Groundwater Country Music Festival also capitalises on the city’s appetite for live music of all genres.

As well as scoring three Golden Guitar awards this year, headliners, The McClymonts are also four-time nominees and two-time winners of the  ARIA award for Country Album of the Year. Texan Granger Smith has smashed the US charts with #1 album in 2013 with ‘Dirt Road Driveway’ and 2016 single ‘Backroad Song’. Joshua Hedley, who brings soaring and velvet vocals to 60s inspired songs has been hailed by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the most anticipated touring artists of this year. And newcomer Lille Mae, also from the USA has already had Rolling Stone Magazine writing about her solo debut.

Casey Barnes, who was a finalist for the Golden Guitars last month shared his joy at being on the lineup for the festival which has fostered his talent since the beginning.

“I’m so excited to be back and part of one of my favourite country music festivals on the Australian calendar,” said Casey.

“Not only is it in my own home town of the Gold Coast but they were a real launch-pad for me from the start. The festival keeps on getting bigger and better every year and I can’t wait to play all the songs off my new album in July!”
