KATHY LETTE’S BIG NIGHT OUT AT HOTA

This March, Australian-born author, screenwriter, journalist, party-girl and all-round bon vivant, Kathy Lette, is taking the Gold Coast on a psychological striptease with her Big Night Out.

Best known as the internationally best-selling author of many novels including Puberty Blues and How To Kill Your Husband, Kathy Lette, will take the stage and share the intimate details of her varied and multi-coloured, personal, social and professional lives.

On 12 and 13 Marc, Kathy Lette’s Big Night Out will talk love, lust, men, marriage, ageing, pregnancy, childbirth, teenage-daughter-wrangling, toy boys, making the Queen laugh, hiding Julian Assange in her attic and tongue-kissing Prince William.

HOTA CEO, Criena Gehrke, believes Kathy Lette will take audiences on a hilarious journey filled with her cheeky sense of humour and strong views about empowering women.

“It’s a great opportunity to grab your girlfriends for a hilarious night out as Kathy takes you from Puberty Blues to ‘menopause blues’ in a matter of seconds,” said Criena.

An ambassador for the National Autistic Society and Ambitious About Autism organisations, Kathy Lette talks poignantly about the times her son came home from school with a sign on his back saying “Kick me I’m a retard” to his success playing Jason on British TV series Holby City.

Having toured the UK and premiering at the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2019, this one-woman show sees Kathy spill her juiciest secrets and defy society’s expectations of how a woman is ‘supposed to act’.

Kathy’s passion for women empowerment is evident in her writing, believing that “…poetic justice is the only true justice in the world.”

“I only write because it’s cheaper than therapy,” said Kathy, “I also write the way women like to talk when there’s no men around.”

“Women are each other’s human wonder bras – uplifting, supportive and making each other look bigger and better.”

Kathy Lette’s Big Night Out will be held in HOTA’s Lakeside Room on Thursday 12 March at 7.30pm and Friday 13 at 1pm. For more information visit hota.com.au.
