Laneway Festival 2016 Dates & Venues Announced

Australia’s premier music festival for bringing new and fresh talent from around the world and nationally to our shores has hit its twelfth year. That festival being, St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival. Today, the promoter’s behind the event have unveiled the 2016 dates and venues along with the lineup announcement date. Essentially an announcement of an announcement.

For the first time the Australian leg of the tour will begin in Adelaide – where the promoters are touting a “pretty big surprise” for fans – then head to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne before ending in Fremantle on Valentine’s Day. The Adelaide and Brisbane festivals are 16+ but all other shows are over-age events. The festival will also be held in Singapore for the fifth year running and make its seventh appearance in Auckland.

The official lineup announcement for Laneway 2016 will be unveiled at 9am on Tuesday, September 22. If you’ve been keeping your ears to the ground you may have spotted some cheeky leaks to the 2016 lineup from recent Splendour in the Grass crushers, Purity Ring, Canadian producer wonder kin, Hudson Mohawke, and a few more.

In the meantime, check out last year’s Brisbane event with our review.
