Grizzled grunge survivor Mark Lanegan, in possession of a swoon-inducing baritone equal parts gravel and molasses, is returning to our shores in September for a highly anticipated three show run of dates taking in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.
The former Screaming Trees vocalist has carved out an impressively diverse solo career, as well as collaborating with a swathe of artists of the calibre of Queens of the Stone Age, Isobel Campbell, Greg Dulli (Afghan Whigs), UNKLE and UK electronic duo Soulsavers.
Last year saw him release his 10th solo record, ‘Gargoyle’, another impressive addition to a solid-gold back catalogue traversing musical touch points as varied as stark acoustic blues and moody, electronic infused rock.
His powerful and moving live show in one not to be missed and you’ll be able to get your fix on Monday, 17 September when he plays The Triffid in Newstead, Brisbane.
