Mitchells Fold: Live review | Buskers by the Creek | Saturday 14 October 2017

Well it may have been a rain swept day on the Gold Coast but Mitchells Fold drew in a crowd of all ages as they made their debut at Buskers by The Creek at Currumbin. They opened Stage 3 (Captain’s Quarters) at 12.15 pm to a capacity crowd of interested and curious onlookers, performing an acoustic set. This was due to the rain putting the Public Address system temporarily out of action.

They performed for about 1 hour and 15 minutes and there were ten original songs, four cover songs and a few jigs, including The Mitchells Fold Jig, in the set that afternoon. In the ten original songs there were two new songs that they debuted at Buskers By The Creek. Overall, Suzy took lead vocals on two songs as did Emmy and Robin sang the rest.

The afternoon came to a close with an old country/bluegrass song, ‘Tell Me Baby’, where the band got the crowd involved, singing along on the chorus and clapping over the acappella. Singing along with a song they’d probably never heard before!

Mitchells Fold was incredibly well received by the crowd and volunteers at Buskers by The Creek.

They host a monthly acoustic jam session and can be found at various open mic nights in the South East Queensland area.
