For those with a penchant for cool and clever indie-jangle infused with a heady dose of power-pop, be sure to head along to Vinnies Dive this Friday night (17 May), when Melbourne visitors Monnone Alone headline a fantastic line-up in support of their much heralded second record, the intriguingly entitled ‘Summer Of The Mosquito’.
Monnone Alone is the current project of Mark Monnone, former member of Melbourne legends The Lucksmiths, who released eight albums of high grade indie-pop between 1993 and 2008. Since the demise of his former band, Mark has also been involved with Melbourne label Lost and Lonesome Records, and his current band also features members of Architecture in Helsinki, Mid-State Orange and Aleks & the Ramps.
Also on the bill are psych pop collective EchoWave, quirky indie-rockers Bum Spa (featuring ex members of 90’s local legends Arbuckle), with Girl And Girl rounding out the bill.
